MiningUnited Ponzi Scheme

-

MiningUnited is running a brazen and obvious Ponzi Scheme at http://miningunited.com . The domain has anonymous WHOIS. The scammer claims to send back more Bitcoins than one sends to him. I think that says it all, though his BS explanation involves mining and a bunch of deflection. It’s ‘free money’ for those who send him money first, lol. Classic Ponzi Scheme.

Duckie on localbitcoins.com

-

Do not deal with Duckie on localbitcoins.com. I was recently conned out of $100 by this user. I contacted them wanting to buy via PayPal, and my offer was accepted, given that I pay with the “Family/Friends” option. Never do this, it becomes that much more difficult to do a chargeback on PayPal because then there’s no evidence for PayPal showing that the transaction was a business transaction – it appears to be a personal transaction. As it says, “Family/Friends”.

I made an account recently on Bitcointalk because I found a thread with a local user near me that also got conned by this Duckie person – but this time $500. You can see the thread over at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=177466.0

I didn’t post there yet as I just recently created my forum account so I am unable to post anywhere except the Newbie forum – but I have sent the OP of that thread a lengthy PM detailing the issue.

I never spoke on the phone with him; we talked only via SMS. We spoke on April 23rd, and that was also the date that I submitted the PayPal transaction. Now, my texts aren’t replied to and the phone number is busy/cut off/goes to a generic answering machine. He just completely ran off with the cash and I have no recourse. I called the bank and filed a claim with PayPal hoping to get my money back but I don’t expect anything to become of it.

Information:
Phone number (talked via SMS): 647-795-3222

Email address: [email protected]

Original ad on localbitcoins.com: https://localbitcoins.com/ad/10508/buy-bitcoins-with-cash-toronto-canada (I got REALLY suspicious a few days ago when the status was changed to “This trader is currently on vacation or is out of bitcoins. Please search for another trader.” coupled with the lack of response to my emails and texts).

This is the message that was left on the ad in case the ad is now down or something: “Text me for faster replies. Also taking EMT, LR, Amazon.ca/.com and maybe other payments just msg me. 6477953222″

This is the SMS conversation that we had on April 23: https://wtf.roflcopter.fr/paste/?b70b8d1eca506278#lDx1BHY+GoVMB3rjdG6uWoYXiz/3Q5lt+4eTn4TKggQ=

This is the PlayerAuctions account that no longer exists that he tried to originally convince me to purchase in-game items from: http://www.playerauctions.com/offer/myofferlist/?username=DuckieDD

And that’s probably about everything. If you know any additional information please let me know. I’d love to be able to get my money back.

eBay/Paypal Scammer – BEWARE – dean_of_war

ebay name: dean_of_war
Gomez Dennis

Purchases Bitcoins from me on eBay, pays promptly with good communication.

As soon as I left positive feedback, he files a claim against me, “Unauthorized charges”, and the payment goes back to him. No way to defend against it.

I was scammed for $16.50 on Bitcoinary.com. Here’s the link to info about the relevant scam and the info about the scammer:

Mobile Phone Number: 818-404-7412 (he answered at this number)
Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/gavin.eros

Also I would advise that nobody use Bitcoinary, I reported the scam to them days ago and haven’t even gotten a response.

Rugatu take prizes meant for others

-

Yesterday I posted a question about advertising, on the rugatu boards and included links of what was being advertised..

partway through the day a user posted an answer with a link to a thread on bitcointalk.

I have used that link and won’t post it right now, if that person could come out and tell me who they are and confirm by sending the same link, I will send a proper reward.

the links portion of the question was turned into the answer, and then the admin doing the modification claimed the reward for themself. and deleted the good answer from someone else.

today a few people were asking for links, and I posted a single link to each that went to the list of links

Today I reposted my question with out posting my links.  Now my account on that site is suspended, with my bitcoins in it, and no way to retrieve them.
